In this session we added the first pass at the Hosting section. Over time we’ll refine this with more detailed reviews, links, and more detailed analysis, but this will have to do for now. Covered:
- Hosting overview. TL;DR: If you don’t want to manage the servers go with Managed WordPress hosting. Choose this unless you have a good reason not to.
- Managed WordPress options. TL;DR: I have the most experience with WP Engine. Flywheel is a cheaper option. Once GoDaddy supports multisite that’ll be my primary recommendation due to the value (e.g. the upgrade to unlimited visitors for ~$70/mo).
- Cloud/VPS/Dedicated options. TL;DR: If you’re using one of these, you probably already have your favorite. If you’re looking for a cloud server option try GoDaddy’s new cloud offering or Digital Ocean.
- Budget options. TL;DR: Use these if you’re on a budget, but if you’re charging enough cost shouldn’t be an issue and the above options are a better choice.
